and ripping your throat out? Erik raised an eyebrow. I ve done it before.
Because I ll kill him right now. The man raised the gun to Casper s head. Do you think
you re faster than my trigger finger, boy?
Erik s eyes darted between the man and Casper. Casper could see his friend debating his
options.
Erik, do as he says. Casper gave his friend a small smile.
 Fine, Erik mumbled
Erik turned his attention toward him and never saw it coming. Before Casper could shout out a
warning the strange man hit Erik upside the head with the butt of his gun. Erik fell to the ground in a
heap.
Erik! he cried out. He tried to pull away but the other man s grip was solid. Why did you do
that?
Because I can. The man started to walk away, pulling Casper along with him.
Casper could feel his teeth pulsing at his gum tissue and his fingernails start to lengthen. A rabid
snarl rose from his gut. He took a deep breath and could smell the damp wood from the trees and the
moist soil underfoot. His eyes traced every movement with acute accuracy and his hearing amplified.
He could hear the thump of the stranger s heart as blood coursed through his veins to pass through his
black heart. Casper s face pulled tight and he lunged for the man.
I don t think so. The man pulled the trigger on the gun.
A muffled shot rang out and pressure hit the center of Casper s chest as if he ran into a brick
wall. He looked down to see a syringe type instrument sticking out of his chest. Casper reached for it
and yanked it from his chest then fell to his knees.
I was hoping you d be a good boy but I guess I was wrong. The man knelt down then lifted
Casper up onto his shoulder.
Casper could see the muddy ground and the back of the man s boots as he walked out of the
woods. His body started to go numb and his ears began to tingle. All sounds seemed to be far away
and he didn t have the strength to move a finger. Casper was helpless and in this man s complete
control.
Chapter Sixteen
You ve reached Bryce Grayson, leave a message and I ll return your call as soon as possible.
Phillip wanted to throw his phone across the living room. He d been trying to reach Bryce since
he dropped Erik and Casper off. Time seemed to pass so slowly and with each message he left that
didn t get returned, Phillip s blood boiled in his veins and worry plagued his mind.
Brandon had called him earlier in the evening checking in. He told his partner no word yet
and Brandon suggested that maybe the man he saw wasn t Bryce. Phillip had seen the man with his
own two eyes. He knew what he saw and it was Bryce. Question now was why the man didn t call
him back.
Frustration and annoyance had his temper on a tight pull trigger. If Bryce ever did get around to
calling him back, Phillip had full intentions of telling his boss what a dickhead thing to do not
returning his calls. It could have been an emergency.
Phillip got up from his couch and headed toward the kitchen. He pulled a beer from the
refrigerator, leaned against the counter, staring out the window as he took a drink. The cold malty
liquid soothed his dry throat.
Memories of the day played at the corners of his mind. Casper and he had made love and it was
the most pleasurable and enjoyable experience of his life. Phillip was an older man and had had
plenty of sex in his life but somehow all those previous times didn t hold a candle to what he d
shared with Casper. It was as if his body came alive and all sensations inside him were heightened. It
seemed magical.
Phillip closed his eyes and could picture the look on Casper s young handsome face as his
passion over took him. His eyes shined so bright Phillip found himself hypnotized by the radiant blue.
The quiver in Casper s muscles as he let go and surrendered himself to Phillip was enough to send
Phillip over the edge but it was the bite Casper gifted him with that had him plundering into the abyss
of sheer ecstasy.
Even now his dick started to harden at the memory of being with Casper. Phillip smiled to
himself. He couldn t wait to be with his mate again and he couldn t wait to tell Aiden. His son needed
to know the truth about him and what he felt for Casper. Like his son had told him when he and Devon
got together, it was something that couldn t be helped. They were meant to be together and so were he
and Casper.
Phillip snapped his head toward the sliding glass door when a sharp bark from the backyard met
his ears. His backyard sat in darkness and there was a stillness in the air that had Phillip s hackles
rising.
Another bark sounded out then there it was. A wolf with gray fur leapt over his fence and
staggered toward him. The closer it got Phillip could see a dark colored substance matting its fur on
the right side of its head. The large beast came to a stop at his feet and let something drop out of its
mouth.
Phillip knelt down in front of the wolf and picked up the damp piece of folded paper. When he
glanced up Erik sat on the ground in front of him. The kid was winded and his face was sweaty and
flushed with color. Blood dampened the side of his head.
He said I had to give that to you, Erik said between gulps of air, pointing at the scrap of paper.
He said you only had two hours to get there or he ll hurt Casper.
Who? Phillip snapped. He grabbed Erik by his shoulders and pulled him up to his feet.
I don t know. Erik shook his head, then winced. He reached for his head. It was some older
guy. He snuck up on Casper and I as we were leaving the woods. We never heard him coming.
Fuck, Erik! Phillip released his hold on the younger man. What were you two doing in the
woods?
Erik dropped his gaze to stare at the ground. Casper followed me out there, he whispered, and
Phillip had to lean forward to hear him. He never would have been out there if it weren t for me.
Hey. Phillip rested a hand on Erik s shoulder. Erik looked like he was ready to have a mental [ Pobierz całość w formacie PDF ]
